About SYZYGY

Our Name:

Pronounced "szz-eh-jee," our name refers to the moment of perfect alignment between three celestial bodies, such as during a total solar eclipse.

"I have witnessed several total solar eclipses and have always been awestruck by this spectacular sight and experience. I was thrilled to find this fun and distinctive name for my winery.

The name not only reflects my lifelong interest in space and astronomy, but the concept of alignment has also been fundamental to my approach to winemaking – different varietals and diverse vineyards blended together in perfect alignment."

Our Winery History:

Founded in 2001, SYZYGY has crafted very limited-production red wines from renowned vineyards in Walla Walla, Horse Heaven Hills, Red Mountain and the Wahluke Slope.

Over the years, our wines have included a Syrah, a Cabernet Sauvignon and distinctive red blends incorporating other varietals such as Malbec and Tempranillo. Production has ranged from just a few hundred cases to a peak of approximately 2,200 cases annually.

Our wines have received critical acclaim in highly respected publications, including Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast and The Wine Advocate.

Our Upcoming Transition:

Later this year, SYZYGY will begin a new chapter as we say goodbye to our longtime Walla Walla tasting room. As 2026 draws to a close, wine sales will continue primarily online, with occasional private tastings and invitation-only events.
